Abstract:To deeply understand nurses' experience in providing palliative care for cancer patients who transition from treatment to end-stage. Methods: A total of 12 oncology nurses were interviewed in a one-to-one in-depth interview. Colaizzi data analysis method was used to analyze the data and refine the theme. Results: Diverse nursing cognition, rich palliative care practice, talking about death and disease information disclosure were the main barriers, and lack of personal knowledge and organization were the main influencing factors. Conclusions: The positive cognition of oncology nurses is more than negative, and the palliative care practice is rich, but the influencing factors are clear. It is necessary to increase the allocation of resources, improve the mechanism, strengthen training, and provide good palliative care for more patients with end-stage cancer.
