Funeral customs in the folk society are not only the care and memorization for the dead, but also help for the alive to get out of sadness. Lineage is the main power to assure funeral rituals to be completed smoothly. Its function cannot be ignored. However, it has not attached enough attention. The article based on the Shuangfu village in Guangxi, analyzes the function of lineage, as traditional social organization in funeral rituals: helpful to recover from the loss of family member(s), adjust emotions, advocate Chinese filial culture, rebuild community conscience, and eventually reintegrate the society.
