Abstract:This paper explores the role of narrative will in promoting the understanding and transmission of individual life meaning from the perspective of a positive death attitude. A positive death attitude encourages individuals to face the end of life with acceptance and rationality. Within this framework, the narrative advance directive, as a tool for death preparation, becomes a significant vehicle for life legacy and emotional connection. It records an individual"s life experiences, reflections on death, and interpretations of life"s meaning, thereby transmitting this legacy. It aids individuals in reconstructing their life"s meaning, discovering intrinsic value, fosters open societal discussion on life quality and the topic of death, and promotes the formation of a social environment conducive to "good death." In the future, the application of narrative will requires in-depth discussion and practice regarding cultural adaptability, the balance between individual autonomy and social responsibility, as well as technology and ethics.
